violence in homes.

I've been privy to the way some families live. Mainly the "traditional" ones. The girl child or should I say, the women tend to bear the brunt of any mishap in the home. Most women believe that it is normal because that is what they have been trained to believe. In some homes, you hear statements such as : "women should be seen and not heard", " if he hits you then you must have deserved it", " don't you know that he is a man", " do not talk while he is talking your opinion does not count" , " there is nothing wrong with him correcting you by beating you"... No woman deserves to be beaten. Everyone's opinion counts since we all have brains. Even those expected to enforce the law, protect and serve us actually hit their wives and daughters. they even hit other women in public and nothing is done about it.
we need to watch what we teach our male children, we need to teach them respect for women. we need to teach them to value women and not devalue nor debase them with violence.
